It is time to make shoeboxes again for Operation Christmas Child! We will be collecting boxes from now until November 23. As we did last year, we are making special butterfly boxes to send in memory of Emily Barger. This year, to make it easier on all of us, we are providing boxes that are already pre-printed with a butterfly design----no more wrapping! Just assemble the box, and you are ready to pack. The butterflies on the boxes have all been hand drawn by Emily’s sisters and friends. These boxes are not ready yet, but will be very soon.
If you would prefer to do a more traditional box and use Christmas wrap, please feel free to do so. The boxes are all exactly the same---the only difference is the box and the letter that goes in the butterfly box. The important thing is reaching as many children as possible with the Good News!
All of the information and supplies you will need can be found in the foyer at church at the Operation Christmas Child table. You can also contact Barbara Robertson for more information at
berobertson@tds.net.

This year we are also planning a packing party for the first time. We are inviting those of you who purchase shoebox items in bulk from discount stores and party supply catalogues to bring all of your stuff to church to share with each other. We will set up tables, sort out our items, and share our resources to pack our boxes together in fellowship and fun. Whether you buy a little or a lot, bring what you have, and join the fun!

Volunteers are needed in many areas. Please see the sign-up sheet on the OCC table to see how you can help.
